Multiple entries per person/email address or any use of robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed, or similar entry methods or agents (including, but not limited to, sweepstakes-entry services) are prohibited and will void all entries by that entrant. Proof that you submitted an entry is not proof of its receipt by Sponsor. Entrants assume all risk of lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries. Once submitted, entries, including the Essay, become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. By entering the Contest, entrants irrevocably grant to Sponsor a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable, unconditional, perpetual and transferable right and license to use, reproduce, copy, publish, display, distribute, perform, translate, adapt, modify, and otherwise exploit the Essay in any and all media worldwide. Entrants warrant that they have the sole and exclusive right to grant such rights to Sponsor and that Sponsor’s exercise of such rights will not infringe on any rights of any third parties.
4.JUDGING.
Region Categories: All eligible entries received from entrants will be separated into the following categories based on the applicable entrant’s state of residence as of the date of their entry (each, a “Region”): (a) West (WA, AK, HI, OR, CA, NV, AZ, UT, ID, MT, WY, ND, SD, NE); (b) Central (CO, NM, KS, OK, TX, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, IN, MI, OH); and (c) East (NJ, CT, RI, MA, PA, NY, VT, NH, ME, AR, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, TN, KY, NC, SC, WV, VA, MD, DE and the District of Columbia).
Judging – Preliminary Round: During the Preliminary Round of judging held on or about January 17, 2012, a panel of qualified judges determined by Sponsor will review all the Essays from eligible entries received during the Contest Period based on the following criteria (“Judging Criteria”): (1) Presentation: the Essay’s readability, overall quality of writing, use of vocabulary and grammar (0 to 5 points); (2) Originality: the degree of uniqueness and novelty in the Essay compared with all other Essays (0 to 10 points); and (3) Relevance to Question: how well the Essay addressed the assigned topics (0 to 5 points). This means that each Essay may be awarded a maximum of 20 points. The five (5) Essays with the highest score of each of the three (3) Regions (“Semifinalists) will advance to the Final Round of judging. Sponsor reserves the right to advance fewer than five (5) Essays from any of the three (3) Regions to the Final Round if it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible entries from any Region.
Judging – Final Round: During the Final Round of judging held on or about January 20, 2012, a separate panel of qualified judges determined by Sponsor will judge the Semifinalists’ Essays based on the Judging Criteria. For each of the Regions, the one (1) Semifinalist receiving the highest score during the Final Round of judging will be a potential winner (“Winners”).
In the event of a tie during any round of judging, the Essay with the highest score in “Originality” will be selected. The decisions of the Sponsor and judges are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
5.PRIZE (3). There will be three (3) prizes awarded (“Prizes”), one (1) to each Winner. Each Prize will be a 2012 Polaris® RANGER RZR XP™ 4 900. Final color and options to be determined by Sponsor.
